La Terrazza Returns. Venice Awaits.

02 September 2026

Atlas Concorde returns to the historic terrace of the Hotel Excelsior on the Venice Lido for the sixth edition of La Terrazza by Atlas Concorde.

Overlooking the sea in one of Venice’s most distinctive settings, La Terrazza is reimagined together with De.Tales, the international architecture and design studio, as a suspended piazza where ceramic surfaces become architectural elements, shaping space, framing views and creating new ways to experience the Lido.

A suspended piazza over the Lido

From 2 to 12 September, the project starts from the defining quality of the setting itself: its extraordinary openness towards the sea, sky and surrounding landscape. Rather than simply emphasising this openness, the architecture gives it structure. A sequence of monolithic ceramic volumes articulates the terrace, creating more intimate areas, framing views and guiding movement while preserving the visual connection with the landscape. The result is a space that balances openness and protection. Wide perspectives extend the perception of La Terrazza beyond its physical boundaries, while the volumes create more sheltered settings for staying, meeting and conversation.

Open towards the landscape, more intimate around the individual.

The architecture does not compete with Venice. It directs the gaze towards it.

When surfaces become architecture.

Within this spatial composition, Atlas Concorde surfaces take on an architectural role.

Marvel Epic, Marvel T, Marvel Diva and Nyra come together across the monolithic volumes as parts of a single composition. Different surfaces, material effects and finishes create rhythm and depth while maintaining a coherent perception of La Terrazza as a whole. Here, ceramic surfaces are not presented as isolated elements. They define volumes, establish visual continuity and contribute to the way architecture and landscape are perceived together. The material becomes part of the spatial experience: shaping boundaries without closing them, creating depth while maintaining openness, and guiding the relationship between people, architecture and the surrounding setting.

From daylight to after dark

Light is an integral part of the concept developed by Atlas Concorde and De.Tales. During the day, natural light moves across the ceramic surfaces, revealing variations in colour, reflection and material depth as the atmosphere of the Lido changes. After sunset, the lighting concept transforms the perception of the same architecture. Volumes, surfaces and passages emerge differently, extending the spatial experience into the evening and creating a more intimate setting for hospitality and conversation. The transition from natural to artificial light is not simply decorative. Light becomes another architectural material, changing the perception of surfaces and volumes from day into night.

At the heart of La Terrazza

At the heart of the space, the outdoor kitchen introduces another essential dimension of the suspended piazza: conviviality. Designed by Binova, with Cubo Design as kitchen partner, and crafted using Atlas Plan slabs in Nyra Ambrosia, the kitchen is conceived as part of the architectural composition rather than as a standalone element. It becomes a natural gathering point within La Terrazza: a place for meeting, sharing and hospitality that reinforces the relationship between surfaces, furniture and architecture. Its integration into the surrounding ceramic volumes extends the use of Atlas Concorde surfaces from architectural space to functional design, creating continuity between material expression and everyday experience.

Six years in Venice

For the sixth consecutive year, La Terrazza by Atlas Concorde returns to the Hotel Excelsior on the Venice Lido as a place conceived around people, encounters and design. Over time, what began as a temporary installation has evolved into a recognisable presence in Venice, bringing together product excellence, architecture and hospitality in one of the city’s most distinctive settings. Each edition offers a new interpretation of the space while preserving the same ambition: to explore how surfaces can influence not only the architecture of a place, but the way people move through it, meet within it and experience it.

In Venice, surfaces shape more than space. They shape the experience.
